An indie duo formerly from West Lafayette, Indiana, Grasslands consists of Sam Al-Nimri on guitar and Abby Lemert with vocals. Abby and Sam met their second year at college, but didn’t become friends for quite a long time after that. That’s Abby’s fault, because she had prejudged Sam for having tattoos and being in a fraternity.
The two co-wrote and live-recorded <a href="spotify:album:2bUnKoAkV53v1j4PNR1vXd" data-name="Consider the Lilies">Consider the Lilies</a>, their first EP, in Spring 2018. They played a successful tour consisting of one show before fate separated them, with Abby moving to Scotland and Sam moving to who knows where. Perhaps one day fate will be nice and bring them back together again for a full length album.
