Great Bitter Lake, an indie-rock band based in San Francisco, is characterized by songs that start as a hum, and end in fireworks. GBL’s sound, sometimes indie and sometimes leaning toward classic rock, has drawn comparisons to P.S. Eliot, OWEL, Manchester Orchestra, Silversun Pickups, Metric, offering transcendent resonance and vulnerable honesty with an electric backbone.
They were formerly known as Forrest before changing their name to Great Bitter Lake in 2021.
