I began writing my own music soon after joining the Marine Corps in 2018, moved by a desire to try and capture the intensity of life experiences in song. I come from a very musical family, and watching my older siblings sing and play instruments growing up was a great influence. Throughout my enlistment, and especially during my deployment in 2021, music proved to be an essential part of maintaining morale for myself and those around me. There is something about live music that has a power to lift the spirit.
Until recently, music was a fun and meaningful pastime, but nothing more. However, encouraged by the artists of @lostmaryboys to record with them in their studio, the world of music has opened in front of me and I hope to share my love of music in a more intentional way.
