Grief Case emerged out of the frigid Vermont winter of 2022 with a palpable and relentless energy that simply refuses to die out. Formed by three Middlebury College students, the band combines elements of skate punk, midwest emo, and alt-rock into a sound that has earned them both a cult following and their fair share of noise complaints. The band was born and raised in dirty basements and mosh pits, and their music embodies the raw energy and reckless excitement of being young. Made up of Alex Burgess (Guitar/Vocals), Devin Santikarma (Bass/Vocals), and Andrew Gatland (Drums), Grief Case made their debut in May 2023 with their single "Pizza Party". On the track, Santikarma picks up the guitar and lays down the song's signature riff while reminiscing on the simplicity and naivety of being a teenager. Meanwhile, Burgess and Gatland combine to produce a ripping rhythm section performance that drives the track to its anthemic conclusion. The band is set to release one more single in May before the entirety of their highly anticipated self-titled debut album drops this summer.
