Grief Week (formerly A Gentleman’s Pact) have been traversing the music scene for a hot minute now. In the beginning of 2022, they shed their former selves in favour of a complete rebranding under this new moniker. Featuring Kaleb Kaiser on vocals and guitar, Jacob Kachowski on guitar and vocals, RayRay Treeze on bass, and Joel Payne on drums and vocals. Known for their dark, self-deprecating, moving, often humorous lyrics and catchy choruses— Grief Week continues to put on performances full of high energy, camaraderie, and engaging songwriting. Their songs often touch on the difficult subjects of death, addiction, loneliness and the feeling of not belonging— taking bleak situations and putting a quirky, funny and relatable twist on it. The song, “Nightmare Again,” talks about the idea of dying at a funeral so it makes the burial process a little easier on their friends.
Having shared the stage with Off With Their Heads, PKEW PKEW PKEW, Chixdiggit!, Teenage Bottlerocket, Swingin’ Utters, The Last Gang, and many more! Grief Week has plenty in store for their listeners in the coming years. Their debut single, “Nightmare Again,” was released on February 22, 2022 to launch their rebranding. On May 24th they released their second single, “Fine, I’ll Do It Myself.”
