Born in Eagle Rock, a neighborhood in Northeast Los Angeles, the trio GROVES rented a house and began creating a dynamic sound that’s experimental, unafraid, and limitless. The native Texans Stephen Salisbury (vocals/guitar), Reid Guidry (bass) and Will Smith (drums) met in high school and after years of sharing the same passion for music, left their hometown of Groves, TX for LA, in pursuit of starting a band.
Highlighted by tight grooves and melodically rich guitar interplay, the trio balance their approach with dark synth underpinnings and vocals that are at once urgent and cinematic. These are big alt-rock tunes with an intuition for structure and a taste of history.
