A seasoned session musician fresh off of touring with indie heavyweights The National and City and Colour, Growing Boi is the solo venture of songwriter and producer Christopher Matthewson.
Born and bred in rural northwest Ireland, Christopher now resides in Brighton, UK and for the past 10 years has been gigging and producing with a variety of artists such as Bess Atwell, Even Owen, Ciaran Lavery, Jacko Hooper, Michael Baker, Holly Macve, Hollow Hand and George Ogilvie amongst others.
Growing Boi is an outlet for the abundance of material that Matthewson has accrued over years of writing and recording.
Matthewson has established himself as both a formidable songwriter and producer over the years and has developed a signature sound all his own. With an emphasis on production and immediate but subtly complex and lush arrangements, Matthewson embraces the fundamentals of the new wave of Lo-fi and psychedelia.
