'Grunts' is a death metal trio from Riga. Their origins can be found in 2014 when Jānis (vocals/bass) began writing primitive versions of their first songs. In November 2018, Dmitrijs joined as the guitarist, and the duo played their first concert in September 2019 at the club "Melnā piektdiena." Shortly after, Andrejs joined as the drummer.
In February 2020, they recorded their EP "Sārta Dzīle, Sārta Zeme", which was released in June 2020. The band has been actively performing, and in May 2022, Armands replaced Dmitrijs as the guitarist. They have released singles "Sadisms" in 2022 and "Elpot.Dzīvot.Nomirt." in 2023.
Musically, they draw inspiration from the old-school Florida death metal sound, combining it with their own interpretation of death metal. They've performed at various venues the Baltic states and are continuously working on creating and recording new material, as well as developing their style.
