Gstreets was born Shamel Fitzgerald in the borough of Queens in New York City. He was raised by a single mother in the neighborhood of Jamaica. Then Moving to yonkers. Spending Most of his life in Yonkers, NY his influences include many of hip-hops most talented artists like Dmx, The Lox And Mary J Blige Giving him that soulful old-school feel that hip-hop derived from. Some of his other influences include artists such as Big daddy Kane, Jay-z, Nas, Eminem, DR. Dre, and Timbaland.
Throughout his career, he has produced 100's of beats and has perfected his lyrical flow learning how to record his vocals and master his sound as a hip-hop artist. He is an avid Producer who has released 3 Instrumental albums and over 50 singles. Also Writing a song titled "F#@k Rap where he talks about making music as if it is a woman and lists the struggles he has as an upcoming artist in the digital music error.
