Born in 1965, in Turkey. Since 1979 she‘s been living in Bremen, Germany. Though she‘s graduated from German Language and Literature Department / Cultural Sciences of Bremen University, her real leading occupation is being a writer. Also, she’s been working as a freelance journalist, an interpreter under oath and a DJ for years. Since the beginning of the 1990s, she’s started to make music in various parties just because she had fun. After 1995 she had become the DJ of the monthly prepared dancing nights. ‘Raks-Night’, ‘Rhythm Of The World’, ‘Club Mediterrane’, ‘Lailet Rai’ and ‘Mondo Della Musica’ are the ones if we are to name some of them.
She always objects to the dominance of western music over the other styles and has never liked the Mainstream-Disco-Sound. Day to day, she discovers the wealthiness of the music - presented under the Name - world music and enjoys to share its’ richness with other people.
She carries on giving positive energy to the people, with the music she’s making at special nights, arranged under different names. Gülbahar Kültür was one of the editors and presenters of Café Mondial, a radio program of COSMO / Radio Bremen dedicated to World Music; since January 2006 she is working as a permanent music editor for the same radio station. Besides, Kültür was the producer, editor and presenter of the World Music program Global Beats aired every Friday for three years in "Acik Radyo", broadcasting since May 2002.
