Guru Deep

Guru Deep is a project between Deepak Verma and Jeff Hassay. Guru Deep, roads between spiritual chanting, hallucinogenic meditation, thump-cracking rock and roll, acoustic reveries and sun-drenched cinematic pathos emerged. Like a dawn sky over some misty landscape where tones awaken like a glorious doom shivering with a radiating glory as colors churn and the clouds glow as someone eats aloo gobi by campfire to the sound of waves crashing against the West Coast. These songs transmit a sound current which you have always had in your breath spirit, bloods, hormones, bones, skin, tissue, membranes. It’s the rhythm of the heart, the Iambic of the rustling of the Universe shifting, the constant ONG as creator in action. Guru Deep aims to make that Naad flow and trickle into your very soul- the songs are arranged through a Universal Musical Chakra regardless of genre or time. Verma and Hassay wrote, performed, recorded and mixed all of the songs themselves in Los Angeles.

Deepak Verma (Guru Deep) is an actor, musician, storyteller, screenwriter.

Jeff Hassay lives in Los Angeles. He is a producer and virtuosic performer. Hassay’s previous release Beach Boys House: Dirt Sounds was a field recording of the house where Brian Wilson grew up and the vinyl contained actual dirt from the site and was hand-made by Hassay.
