A decibel-crushing, uncompromising Swedish death metal unit in the vein of <a href="spotify:artist:3UqRgrDIQ208yNGiWKRMNt">Napalm Death</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0yLwGBQiBqhXOvmTfH2A7n">Cannibal Corpse</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:35jmO5o3AhUV70kiR7u4Nw">Morbid Angel</a>, Gutter Instinct was founded in 2012 around the talents of Oscar Persson, Hannes Hellman, and Thomas Ernemyr. Based out of Helsingborg, the band issued a well-received demo tape shortly after forming. After some lineup retooling that saw the band solidify into a five-piece featuring Ernemyr (vocals), Persson (guitar), Hellman (guitar), Simon Isakssn (bass), and Ola Håkansson (drums), Gutter Instinct inked a deal with Prosthetic Records and issued their debut EP, Insurrection.
