GZ Tian is a London-based artist, producer and anime connoisseur. When he isn’t busy photoshopping cartoon e-girls into his selfies (yes, we’re serious), you can find him wreaking havoc in music venues, studios, and probably your girl’s DMs.
Although he grew up in Stockport, GZ spent frequent spells in Liverpool with his grandparents when his musician parents were touring under the stage names Jah Wobble (father) and Zi Lan Liao (mother). Infused with a mix of Irish blood and Mongol-Chinese heritage, his music brings together a slick concoction of Chinese instrumentation, witty lyricism and urban flavours. Grounded in versatility and imagination, his unique records transcend genre boundaries. GZ has sold out numerous intimate venues across London, opened for Jafro and performed at legendary UK music festival, Glastonbury.
After connecting with UK-based label ‘1Pop’ in the winter of 2022, who share GZ’s vision for global success, he is set to release his debut EP 'La di da dumb'. The EP describes a relationship between GZ and a (apparently real, though we are skeptical) girl. The record describes GZ's affectionate but reserved feelings for this girl who just wants to party and dance the night away. Single by single, GZ effortlessly provides a high-energy yet carefully crafted introduction to his artistry.
