Hacker Switch
Hailing from Bucharest, Romania, Hacker Switch is a four-piece post-punk band that merges binary code with raw rebellion. Comprising programmers by day and sonic architects by night, they create a sound that critiques modern tech dystopia through glitchy textures and fractured rhythms.

Members:

Andrei "Void" Popa (vocals/bass): A cybersecurity analyst whose basslines echo malfunctioning firewalls, delivering deadpan lyrics on algorithmic loneliness.

Ioana "404" Dumitru (modular synths/guitar): A frontend developer who repurposes Soviet-era synths to produce arrhythmic pulses that crash like unhandled exceptions.

Vlad "Root" Ionescu (drums/field recordings): A cloud infrastructure engineer who programs drum machines to "fail beautifully," blending Bucharest subway sounds with corrupted server noise.

Anca "CtrlZ" Stanescu (tape manipulation/noise): A data visualization designer crafting collages of decaying cassette loops and MIDI glitches, resembling rogue data centers.

Born from late-night coding marathons, Hacker Switch’s music utilizes tools from their day jobs—granular synthesis from data compression and guitar riffs inspired by buggy legacy code. Their debut EP, Syntax Terror (2023), serves as an underground manifesto, with tracks structured like nested try/catch blocks that erupt into chaotic stack overflows.
