Spotify is built on exploiting artists. Spotify CEO was quoted saying “the cost of creating content” as artists is “almost zero”, an absolutely incorrect and out of touch statement revealing his lack of value for artists work. Spotify, already known for not adequately compensating artists, recently demonetized all tracks with under 1,000 streams. This means artists will only receive royalties if a track passes 1,000 plays in a 12-months period.
