Halo negro is a French-Mexican project from Guadalajara, México, consisting of Didier Machillot (lyrics and vocals) and César T. Eskalante (multi-instrumentalist). Darkwave, cold wave, post-punk, are some of the genres/sounds which can describe our music, with French-English-Spanish lyrics. Luminous or dark, raw or poetic, Halo Negro embraces Nerval’s verses: “My only star is dead —and my constellated lute/Bears the black Sun of Melancholia.”
