San Diego artist, Hameen has been making music since he was a kid . His love for music has always been a passion he not only felt in his heart and soul, but heard within himself for as long as he can remember. His goal in creating music is to provide you with a unique but classic experience. He has been influenced by a variety of music over the years, from listening to Chaka Khan and the Gap Band with his mom, to MJ and Prince with his older brother. Thanks to his mother, he grew up spending many nights listening to classical and jazz performances at the Hollywood Bowl. In middle school and high school, he was exposed to Hip Hop, R & B, big band and many other genres of music, thanks to the eclectic melting pot at Westchester High School in Los Angeles. During his college years at Fisk University in Nashville, he was deejay for Fisk’s local radio station “WFSK 88.1” and co-produced the “Neo Soul Flow Show”, as well as many other Hip Hop and Jazz programs for the station. He was amazed by the talent of Lionel Hampton when he and his mother witnessed one of his last performances and has also been greatly influenced by Marvin Gaye, John Coltrane, and Jimi Hendrix. The wealth and variety of sounds throughout his life have meshed together in his music to cultivate his current eclectic sound, a sound that will continue to change, evolve, and adapt through the mosaic of emotions and life’s inspirational experiences.
