Hamnesia are a young roman progressive rock/metal band founded by the guitarist Lorenzo Diana and the singer Livia Montalesi. It reached its definitive arrangement in 2015 with Giovanni Tarantino (drums), Matteo Bartolo (keyboards) and Andrea Manno (bass guitar). They begin to perform soon in many of the most important stages of the capital (Defrag, Init, Traffic, Teatro Arciliuto, Jailbreak) and also outside Rome (like in Ionico Rock festival), beginning to compose and arrange their first unreleased songs, which clearly expressed a certain kind of musical style.
In fact, the aim of the band is to create an essential, fresh and experimental music which slightly drifts apart from the standards of progressive metal without losing its basic aspects. Their reference artists are in fact some of the most important progressive metal bands (like Dream Theater, Haken and Porcupine Tree), but the personal tastes and influences of every member and the contaminations with other musical genres (like jazz and classic music) mix toghether giving birth to a musical style that aspires to be something spry and original.
The result of this ensemble flows into the first Hamnesia's work in studio, "Metamorphosis", a concept album which wants to be a journey into the human mind through fears and uncertainties that paralyze it, but that at the same time give us an opportunity to overcome them and change ourselves precusely through a metamorphosis.
