Johannes Melchus, known as HAMSES, derived from a former schoolmate, named after "Ramses," the Egyptian pharaoh, is a 24-year-old Drum and Bass artist from Austria. Influenced by Jump Up pioneers like Dominator and Simula, he swiftly became enamored with the genre. With over a decade as a drummer, rhythm, flow, and danceable patterns have always been his focus in music production. HAMSES, however, extends beyond music. He made culinary waves, showcasing his skills on social media, earning him the nickname "Gordon Hamses," inspired by chef Gordon Ramsay. This title now is his trademark. Since 2020, he's built a devoted SoundCloud following, leading to his debut gig in Vienna. Releases like "Tear Off" with Fourtex and "The Purge" with Skydrill elevated his status in the Austrian Drum and Bass scene. In 2022, his first bookings in Belgium arrived, marking significant progress. Playing to foreign crowds and networking with fellow DnB producers fueled his passion for growth and excellence.
