Hand Model

Hand Model is the Los Angeles-based electronic project of Ignat Frege. Will Life Reign Supreme Even In Death is Frege’s debut LP, being released digitally on The Flenser (<a href="spotify:artist:5vjIHa1u3TnOlDvVDR9qQa" data-name="Midwife">Midwife</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4yRSUmhuSJ3KcIMljdh4fH" data-name="Chat Pile">Chat Pile</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0FRKTwQSToXpCxYMhyUzYY" data-name="Have A Nice Life">Have A Nice Life</a>). Will Life is at its core an electronic record constructed with synthesizers, bass guitar, and field recordings of friends, construction sites, and wild animals. The instrumentals are accompanied by Frege’s sardonic lyrics that aim to capture the immediacy of a reality that is nearly solid to the touch. WIth hints of trip-hop and an undercurrent of noise, Will Life is <a href="spotify:artist:06sdJwlggq0PKOe4LPZWCg" data-name="HTRK">HTRK</a> meets NIN. The album delivers a potent dose of electronica, with PC Music-esque moments, and even pop leaning house, all providing a backdrop for Frege&#39;s caustic and darkly hilarious spoken word.

Will Life features additional vocals by Frege’s collaborators Zack Frederick and Nathan Burger (<a href="spotify:artist:3YgYxIBcJz0srhnbMDMd8p" data-name="Cave Diver">Cave Diver</a>), who join Frege during Hand Model live performances. The track “Your Minds” is co-produced by Frege’s longtime collaborator and house producer <a href="spotify:artist:5x73CaC5M4hN2tKRZa2aHF" data-name="Gloved Hands">Gloved Hands</a>. The album art is by fellow The Flenser artist <a href="spotify:artist:2lbUZvIMQVI9unYN34lmOZ" data-name="Kathryn Mohr">Kathryn Mohr</a> and features a surreal photograph of a kitchen from yesteryear, laden with the anxiety that usually accompanies nostalgia.

Frege has also performed as one half of the experimental metal band <a href="spotify:artist:694llXQWlAvZlnG3qA1nkJ" data-name="Wreck and Reference">Wreck and Reference</a>. In Wreck and Reference, Frege contributed production, acoustic drums, and vocals to their warped soundscapes.
