Hans-Henning Ginzel

Hans-Henning Ginzel is an internationally acclaimed musician, composer, and conductor with over 15 years of success in the music industry. He studied cello, composition, and conducting in Munich and Madrid under prominent mentors, graduating with top honors (1.0). Ginzel has been recognized with 14 international awards and has received composition commissions from leading ensembles such as the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra.

As a cellist, Ginzel has collaborated with renowned figures like Steve Reich, Helmut Lachenmann, and Mark Andre, and performed under the batons of Kent Nagano, Herbert Blomstedt, and Esa-Pekka Salonen. He co-founded the innovative Munich concert series #Listen#Out, directed the ensemble hartmann21, and has toured internationally, including three tours in Asia.

His compositions, published by C.F. Peters, span over 100 works, including orchestral, chamber, and operatic pieces. As a film composer, Ginzel’s work on White Angel – The End of Marinka earned global recognition, including awards at the New York TV & Film Festival and nominations for prestigious German film prizes.

Ginzel’s recordings, distributed by Sony and Naxos, have been critically acclaimed. Since 2020, he has been head of music education at the Solling boarding school.
