Hansel is a producer, songwriter, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist hailing from the rich cultural hubs of Baní, Dominican Republic and scenic Scotch Plains, NJ. He discovered a love for singing after joining his high school's a cappella group, the SPFHS Sensations, where he was a bass and student arranger. He then slowly discovered audio production and began working with bands around him, as well as his own.
In his sophomore year at Johns Hopkins University, he oversaw the creation of the collegiate circuit's first school compilation a cappella album as executive producer, handling the process from engineering to mixing and sparking his reputation as one of the community's most ambitious young talents. As an intern at The Vocal Company in 2016, Hansel worked with some of a cappella's biggest names, including UMD's Faux Paz, JHU's Octopodes, UMass Amherst's S#arp Attitude, and The Hexachords, earning him 10 CARA nominations for his work in his first year. Soon after, he joined the neo-a cappella group D-Fi as a tenor and creative producer and began recording, producing, and arranging for groups around the country.
With his background in percussion, his hand in various different genres, and an emphasis on groove, Hansel hopes to blend modern musical and production elements with modern vocal production to craft a new sound.
