Haram Tapes

Haram Tapes are two friends who unknowingly reconnected as a result of the mala - go - rhythm of Soundcloud . Pete was living in Istanbul making inky ambient soundtracks (to accompany dark days of coup attempts and the growing Syrian refugee crisis) His recordings kept popping up in Rob's feed, (who lived in the hub of infernal noise Vienna ). What seemed to him like an unknown producer in Istanbul was in fact someone he had spent many nights in Bournemouth moving in the same circles and conversing over music in various states from 96 - 2003 , long story short after swapping messages ( with Rob impressed with his new friend’s command of southern slang ) they started to send links and both professed their love for Aphex , BOC GAS , blackest dark metal and Vatican Shadow. All of which served as a gateway or trade route if you will to Muslimgauze. Remixes followed between their solo projects, See Safari (Rob) and Sumatran Black (Pete), and then stems were exchanged. Eventually tunes began to emerge and Haram Tapes was born. 6 months later, the first tape “Haram” was complete.
