Hari & Aino

Contrary to what their name might suggest, Hari and Aino are not Finnish (the name Aino is Finnish in origin), they're not Japanese (Hari is a Japanese name), and they're definitely not a duo. Hari and Aino are actually a Swedish five-piece consisting of Kristoffer Rengfors, Gunnar Jacobsson, Pontus Leander, Andrea Dahlkild, and Robert Klaesson. Formed in 2006, Hari and Aino's sparse, quirky indie pop, characterized by angular guitar stylings and Dahlkild's smooth, icy vocals, nods to acts like <a href="spotify:artist:4BVohWMktC1YuB24HgOGzi">California Snow Story</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:3PvNSturlrBV4aYdMJAyOH">Sambassadeur</a>, not to mention old-school groups like <a href="spotify:artist:6W8VbSclDd31QHMBwoC84H">the Orchids</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:6jXqh4cxbD6QiDlHPwqcHO">the Would-Be-Goods</a>. Their first EP, Your Heartache and Mine, was released on Cloudberry Records in the summer of 2007, and their self-titled debut album was released on Plastilina Records the following year.
