Haserot

Named after the ominous statue entitled, ‘The Angel of Death Victorious’, Haserot is a Houston death metal band formed in 2019 by Brandon Johnson and Maurice Eggenschwiler of Doomstress and Blues Funeral respectively. As ideas started to flourish, the pair completed their lineup by tapping talent from several established Houston bands including: Benjamin Yaker (Sanctus Bellum), Cryptos Grimm (Spectral Manifest), and Justin McKittrick (Scrollkeeper).
The band craft music derived from the death metal stalwarts of the 90’s whilst adding modern twists. Throughout their music you can hear sonic references to everyone from Morbid Angel to Entombed by way of Bloodbath and Carcass. Their music is the culmination of a passion for old school, mid-tempo death metal but with great song structure and melodic lead lines. For the last two years this vision has guided them into writing and recording a bold new EP.
This clear vision along with the combined experience each band member has obtained playing for more than a decade in Houston, has led to a truly unique offering; their established local fanbase has Haserot poised to be one of Houston’s premier death metal acts.
Haserot have been hard at work mixing, mastering and perfecting their upcoming EP with legendary Swedish musician and record producer, Dan Swanö.
