Born in 2004, José Andrés Alvarez is a Mexican pianist and composer who explores a particularly extensive panorama in the musical universe with his creations. Currently studying his major in Film and Media Scoring at Berklee College of Music, “hats, by harvane” has served as an alternative musical project for himself.
Not only has he been part of national and international competitions and festivals for classical interpretation, but is also a composer that has been inspired by selections of multiplex musical styles, such as jazz, classical, R&B, experimental ambience, instrumentals and alternative music.
He claims that publishing his music has a rather unusual purpose: “My music was not made for the people who listen offhandedly, but rather for those whose culture does not resign the desire of admiring, cherishing and most of all acknowledging the philosophy that, as art is approached by sensible people at a museum, music like mine is reachable in all of these platforms for these group of people and has the power of potentially introducing critical minds to a profound and intimate space.”
