A letter by Hawkon from the album Vulnerability1000:

Since we now are sharing this moment together maybe you sometimes feel like me. Warm hearted… In the good and the bad. Seeming “ok” or even better on the outside but on the inside, wanting to be seen, touched, heard, loved… that which gives purpose and meaning to our lives. But when we reach out for this connection - why does everything suddenly become so hard?

In order for us to feel connection we have to open up to others - to let ourselves be deeply seen. With this opening up comes vulnerability & a fear of rejection. In waiting for the answer we are hoping for, comes the feeling that we are inadequate in some way. Not worthy of connection. In these situations we often try to shut out bad feelings by acting irrationally, saying or doing things we don’t mean or maybe falling into the trap of silence…

Whilst vulnerability lies at the core of shame and fear, it is also the birthplace of joy, love, creativity and belonging. What brings you and the ones you care about forward in life is having the courage to put yourself in a vulnerable position - to ask for something with no guarantees.
