Häxdans is a quartet that crawled out of the grey and rainy depths of Stockholm, Sweden in late 2023. Originally formed as an excuse to drink beer and crank out some rock and roll, the band quickly evolved into a full-fledged force of heavy music. Although the soul of the debut single ”Leather Wings” rests firmly in classical heavy metal, Häxdans draws inspiration from a wide range of genres, including punk, doom, death metal, and old-school rock and roll. It is music about witches and demons, and anxiety, and about hating fascists, and the existential dread of space, and about the nuclear armaggedon that we are all likely going to face at some point. But mostly, it is just about irresistibly groovy, hard-hitting metal.
