Trev Heaton formed Hazel as a solo project in 2018 at his studio Gunfactory, located in East London. Along the way adding Levi Heaton, before completing the current live line up with final additions, Delia Racheru on bass and Calvin Baeno on drums.
Self produced, self managed and just about everything else DIY, they have managed so far to release three singles, ‘Occupy my Sun ‘in 2019, Thinking On’, released Sept 2020 and the current offering ‘Start Over’, released Nov 2021.
After the release of their debut single “Occupy my Sun”, the band enjoyed radio play on the John Kennedy show on radio X and Amazing Radio, plus a debut show at The Social in London at the end of 2019 for Radio 1s, The Huw Stephens presents show.
As with many bands, Covid has had a big impact on the ability to play live shows, disrupting a positive start for the band but ultimately resulting in valuable time spent writing and recording new material.
Hazel are now back on track with their latest single 'Start Over’, receiving some great reviews and radio plays.
An album is planned for release mid 2022.
