Heaven Proper is fronted by Joshua Tree-based singer-songwriter, Lexie Papilion. Formerly known as Bloodboy, Papilion left Los Angeles in 2020, quit making music and went about her life. Years on, after realizing the proverbial limb she felt missing was making music, she started writing again. Enter new limb, Heaven Proper.

A multi-genre mashup, Heaven Proper is part alternative rock, part folk, part shoegaze. It might feel more ‘tame’ than Papilion’s last outfit but, if you listen closely, it’s a mature, experimental evolution of her signatures: raw, dynamic vocals and a distinct blend of offbeat, reflective lyrics.
