Hedvig is a Progressive Thrash Metal Band from Freiburg (GER) and Strasbourg (FR) formed in 2019. On November 8th 2024 they released their newest album „Collapse“ – an hour-long voyage showcasing the many influences that inspire the band : from modern Groove Metal to Oldschool Thrash all the way to Progressive Rock.
Perfecting their sound with the 3 piece set-up, Hedvig manages to combine the creative writing of elaborate bass parts, the solid riffing and frantic soloing of the guitar and the groovy yet precise drums, along with a variety of vocals going from punky yells to death metal growls and even incorporating clean singing. The lyrics of the band express their deep-rooted anger towards injustice and oppression, their desire to radically change society as well as their struggle with emotional and psychological issues. Hedvig have come to stay and don’t shy away from letting it all out when playing live, so strap in for a wild ride!
