Based in Berlin, Germany, Heimer is an electronic musician and visual artist whose recordings are just as colorful and fractured as his artwork. His music is bright, playful, and eclectic, recalling genres such as trap, dubstep, and skweee, as well as the work of Ghostly International artists such as Shigeto, Michna, and Tycho. Heimer first reached the public consciousness through his collaborations with British vocalist/musician Will Samson, then of Berlin-based experimental pop group Fenster. The two first worked together under the name Animal Hands, and their techno-folk track "Beacon Island" was included on Will Saul's DJ-Kicks mix CD. The two then recorded a full-length titled Animal Hands as Will Samson & Heimer, and Karaoke Kalk released it in 2015. Heimer made his debut as a solo artist in May of 2016, when Tomlab released his four-song EP Beverly the Hill. The EP's title track later appeared on full-length Teilzeit Swag, which appeared in September. ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi
