Originally formed in Melbourne, Australia, the duo Heligoland play quiet and beautiful music, often described as falling somewhere between Low, Sigur Ros, and the Cocteau Twins. The soaring vocals of Karen Vogt are one of the most distinctive and memorable aspects of Heligoland’s music. In 2007, the group relocated to Paris, France and shortly after began working with producer Robin Guthrie. His lush and evocative productions have graced the groups most recent releases, All Your Ships Are White (Album, 2010), Bethmale (EP, 2012), Sainte Anne (EP, 2013), Coriallo (EP, 2017), and new album This Quiet Fire (2021). After a little more than two decades spent quietly exploring the margins of dreampop, folk, slowcore, and shoegaze, Heligoland’s journey appears far from over.
