Hailing from Bend, Oregon, ex-members of Philadelphia bands including The Halo Down, A Maritime Murder, and Plow United bring east coast tenacity to Hello Traitor’s sound. Pulling from their collective influences of seminal acts such as Fugazi, Pitchfork, and Jawbox, the band released their first LP Generation Chains in 2023 written largely during the pandemic.
Their debut album centers around societal and mental health issues we all deal with every day. Generation Chains’ namesake track examines the path of breaking cycles of violence and abuse rather than mire in the empty half of the glass. The record challenges listeners to seek ways to grow beyond the past instead of allowing it to define the present and future.
Hello Traitor attempts to answer the age-old question “Why are we drawn to introspective and challenging art like moths to the flame?” by providing our ups and downs, highs and lows, victories and defeats, a soundtrack to match the experience of living through it all.
