Henceforth Brasil

Henceforth was formed in Sao Paulo, Brazil on late 1993. It took the band 2 demo tapes and one promo-CD until the debut album Henceforth was released in late 2005 via Voice Music in Brazil and Heaven Records in Argentina (produced by Luis Guilherme Canaes); the follow-up "The Gray Album" came out as a self-released effort produced by Hugo in 2010. There were some concerts to support the 1st one but almost none to support the later as the band ceased activities in 2011.

The band is currently not active (no reunion tour in sight!). The last line up was made up of Hugo Mariutti (gtr), Frank Harris (voc), Luis Mariutti (bass), Fabio Elsas (dr/voc) and Cristiano Altieri (kb) and it started out as a lot more prog-oriented (specially on the 1st demo tape). When Luis came into scene to assist Luis Guilherme Canaes on the pre-production of the debut album (yeah, at first he didn't play in the band but when former bassist Andre Nikakis moved to Greece he jumped right in!) things started sounding a bit heavier. The second album still sounds heavy for the most part but with a darker feel to it.

Hugo has a separate profile on Spotify where you can listen to his 2 solo albums "A Blank Sheet of Paper" and "For a Simple Rainy Day". He and Luis were also part of the recently-reunited band SHAMAN - which is no longer to be since the tragic passing of their frontman Andre Matos on 08th June 2019.
