Formed by ex-ZZ en de Maskers singer Bob Bouber, Amsterdam band Het issued four singles (half in Dutch, half in English) in 1966 and 1967. These were very much in the style dubbed by in-the-know collectors as "niederbiet," taking inspiration from the rowdier British Invasion bands, but adding some filters that to English speakers seem odd and a bit twisted, especially in the rhythmic and vocal enunciation departments. Most of their material was original, with the first of their 45s, "Ik Heb Geen Zin Om Op Te Staan"/"Alleen Op Het Kerkhof," making the Top Ten in the Netherlands. A final single (also in Dutch) was credited to Het Poco Mania, without much of a change in musical direction. ~ Richie Unterberger, Rovi
