Forming in 1987, Hey Paulette released three singles between 1988 and 1990 on independent record label Mickey Rourke's Fridge. These included their popular songs Commonplace and I really Do Love Penelope. In 1989 they recorded a John Peel session for his show on BBC radio 2. The band’s final release came many years later, when a compilation of their singles, radio sessions, and rarities entitled Long Ball Into Nowhere was released in 2005 by German independent record label Firestation Records. Over the years since their demise in 1991, some of Hey Paulette’s more popular songs have also appeared on many compilations of 80s independent music.

Eamonn Davis (vocals, guitar) Derrick Dalton (guitar, backing vocals) Colm Fitzpatrick (bass, backing vocals), Darren Nolan (drums, backing vocals)
