Highway Apostles

Highway Apostles is a 4-piece rock band from Pretoria South Africa who hit the ground running in the music scene. Since they started the band, they have continued to offer rock music that people love and makes them want to move, creating a feeling of high intensity and energy. They create a performance and atmosphere radiating with nonconformity, individuality & expression, authenticity, independence and humor.

The lead singer Lourens met the bassist Luco through mutual friends in high school and decided to form a band. They started as a two-man project, which later grew to a four piece band previously known as 'Nova Baby'. When Nova Baby disbanded, Lourens and Luco recruited Meirin (drummer) and Rian (rhythm guitarist) to join them to form 'Highway Apostles' in November of 2022. Since then they made their mark on some of their popular local stages such as Railways and Sowaarbar as well as festivals such as Misty Waters.

Throughout their music and performances, there are noticeable influences and inspiration taken from bands such as the Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys, Royal Blood and Cleopatrick. Their incorporation of these influences in their music clearly sets them apart from their current music scene, providing the original electrifying rock 'n roll feel that fans have been waiting for. Apart from the music, Highway Apostles has a humorous and authentic persona which can be seen through the connection they have with each other on stage.
