Hildegunn Øiseth (Trumpet and Goat horn)
released 6 solo albums: Hildring, Stillness, Valencia, Time is coming, Manana, Suite For Gaia.
After completing her music education at Ingesund Musikkhögskola in Sweden, Hildegunn Øiseth won the audition for Bohuslän Big Band and has toured with them all through the 90´s. During this same period she started developing her own way to musically express herself with the help of various electronic effects.
Her passion to discover more about foreign cultures led to a period as a freelance musician in South Africa. Thereafter, she travelled throughout Asia and the Middle East playing on such traditional Norwegian instruments as the goat horn and birch bark lure. These instruments have been an important source of inspiration over many years. Nowadays she tours mainly with har own ensembles like Panda, Sharaka Ensemble and different duo’s and solo projects, but she is often heared together with the renowned Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, Shamania, Avant Folk and Songlines. Hildegunn has been awarded in Norway by «Den kulturelle skolesekken» for a concert program for children and «Egil Storbekken» award and «Årets Neverlur» in Sweden.
