A Japanese artist who works in a wide range of genres, including IDM, Electronica, Ambient, Alternative and theatrical incidental music.
Studied composition under Matsuki Watamura and Joji Yuasa. D. program at Nihon University, Graduate School of Arts.
In addition to composing works for concerts, he also composes music for stage and video, and plans and directs theatrical expression across genres.
He began composing contemporary music when he was an undergraduate student.
In parallel with his works on Western instruments, he composed works on Japanese instruments, including the satsuma-biwa.
In 2010, he participated in EXPERIMENTAL SOUND, ART & PERFORMANCE organized by Tokyo Wonder Site.
After graduating from university, he began composing and improvising electronic music using a computer.
For his postgraduate PhD, he studied the Italian contemporary composer Luigi Nono. In 2011, he gave a lecture concert as part of his research, including the Japanese premiere of NONO's work "Post-Prae-Ludium per Donau".
He is influenced by a wide range of musical genres, including contemporary and experimental music, IDM, Ambient, Alternative, R&B, and Japanese traditional and pop music.
In 2013, Speech (Label) released the first album "Chairs of Grass".
Since 2012, he has been producing stage music for theater and contemporary dance.
In 2021, his first album under the name Utzho, "Stand on the Horizon," was released on PROGRESSIVE FOrM.
