hOFFMAN

hOFFMAN was formed in October 2003 in Westman islands. All of the band members hail from this unique island but are now based in Reykjavík. Shortly after forming, hOFFMAN began writing music for their debut release. Within just six months, the band dropped their first EP, Bad Seeds, which quickly garnered significant radio airplay thanks to its standout singles. Over the following years, hOFFMAN performed extensively, gaining recognition as their singles climbed to the top of Iceland’s leading rock charts. In late 2008, the band began crafting new material for their upcoming LP, Your Secrets Are Safe with Us, released on October 9, 2009. The album, inspired by the economic crisis that rocked Iceland, also received widespread radio play and chart success. The LP was recorded in the Westman Islands at Island Studios and the mastering was done at Reflex Studios in Reykjavík. Remaining proudly independent, hOFFMAN comprises Ólafur (vocals), Viggó (guitar), Gunnar (guitar), Sæþór (bass), and Magni (drums). Their sound is influenced by iconic artists such as The Doors, deus, Radiohead, Oasis, and Tapes and Tapes, among others. Now 13 years later the band is back together and have started writing and recording for a new album, debuting in 2025. The band hOFFMAN has just released their first single in 15 years. The track, titled Shame, was recorded at the studio of Of Monsters and Men in Garðabær, with Bjarni Jensson handling the recording.
