Holden Mcowen

I was born in downtown Manteo, North Carolina, where I lived until I left for college. As a kid, I was always drawn to music, so I started taking piano when I was 8 and loved it. I took for four years and even did a few small competition. By the time I was in middle school, football took over as a passion, and I even went to college on a scholarship, but the sport never took the place of music for me. I used my musical ear to teach myself guitar, which is where my song writing path began. Once I got to college I began performing with a group called Distort the Fluff. I then decided to create my own brand called Kiiind Collectives. I’d throw shows, sometimes bringing in visual artists who would paint a piece that would then be auctioned off at the end of the show, and the proceeds from that and the door would go to a charity. I’ve also designed apparel for Kiiind that changes seasonally.

I’m now in a transition period, musically. I have acoustic songs I want to release, at the same time, I have jazz influenced hip-hop content to release. I’m excited to see where it all goes and I’m just thankful to live a life full of creation.
