Holiday Friends is an indie rock band from Astoria, OR. The four bandmates, Scott Fagerland, Jon Fagerland, Joey Ficken, and Zack O’connor live on the coast where they’ve built out their own studio to self-produce upbeat, and layered pop. Holiday Friends’ danceable, synth-rock has landed them on Portland’s Alternative Radio 94.7 FM, OPB Music, and TV shows Shameless and MTV’s Awkward. They’re always a welcome draw in Portland, where they’ve sold out clubs like Doug Fir Lounge and Mississippi Studios, and been invited to open for artists like Vampire Weekend, Bastille, Vance Joy, Awolnation, and The Vaccines. Their new single, “Chin Up” written during the early spring of 2020 reflects on feelings of trying to remain positive in a relationship where one person (or the other) is not.
