Holloway

Charlene Holloway, a native of Philadelphia, literally lives in recording studios. The list of artists she's backed is staggering, and when not recording, she's often burning up the highways touring with a vast array of singers. Her career jump-started about the same time Philadelphia International Records started blazing. <a href="spotify:artist:7azp9wRyXcxIq5vZnJgYvt">Dexter Wansel</a> featured <a href="spotify:artist:3nXMZsj1H0F7h9SDUeYNjg">Holloway</a> on his Universal, album; she toured with <a href="spotify:artist:0ty0xha1dbprYIUAQufkFn">Patti Labelle</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:68kACMx6A3D2BYiO056MeQ">Teddy Pendergrass</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0PcIlEZa7rreM7729ot05g">Stephanie Mills</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:70BRQ5tBte6kVqHviL3srE">Pieces of a Dream</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:19ra5tSw0tWufvUp8GotLo">George Michael</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:3oqSDVaf6RoBGreqOlgUpv">Phyllis Hyman</a>. Initially, <a href="spotify:artist:3nXMZsj1H0F7h9SDUeYNjg">Holloway</a> sung with her sister <a href="spotify:artist:2uuyUlFapez1bgeidvWkcr">Paula</a>, and Annette Hardeman; the trio sung in school and churches and later backed many of Philadelphia's finest singers.
