Holly is a Melbourne based saxophonist, composer and teacher, cementing her place as a diverse and dynamic new voice in the Australian jazz scene. In December of 2024, she released her album ‘FLOOD’ on Japanese/Australian record label Namboku Records and played album release shows at the Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival and in Sydney at Monday Night Confessions. Holly has been playing with the Australian Art Orchestra (AAO) since 2023. Performances with the AAO have included the 2023 Melbourne International Jazz Festival for the premiere of ‘Raw Denshi’, 2024 Brunswick Music Festival for ‘Shuffle-Play’ and a tour to Tokyo, Japan, for a residency at the iconic Pit Inn in November of 2024.
In 2022, Holly was a recipient of an ABC Jazz Composer Commission which resulted in her debut release ‘Reunion’ in November 2023. Her music was featured on the ABC compilations ‘Women of Jazz ‘24’ and ‘Best of ABC Jazz 2023’ as well as the MIJF: These Digital Times 2020 compilation. In 2020, she was the recipient of the Melbourne International Jazz Festivals program ‘Take Note', where she was commissioned to write a new suite of music. This resulted in a performance with a jazz sextet with long-time friends and collaborators for the MIJF digital festival ‘These Digital Times’. Holly is passionate about music education and developed a series of online jazz workshops for high schools in Victoria with MIJF during Melbourne’s second lockdown in 2020.
