Honey Lung

<a href="spotify:artist:7xhSASbzZi4UXHDnWptMaY" data-name="Honey Lung">Honey Lung</a> emerged through a hazy writing session at lead singer Jamie’s house as they listened to <a href="spotify:artist:4rjlerN21ygkIhmUv55irs" data-name="The Jesus and Mary Chain">The Jesus and Mary Chain</a>&#39;s Just Like Honey. You’ll hear many 90’s grunge, shoegaze, and alternative rock influences in their sound (<a href="spotify:artist:4Z8W4fKeB5YxbusRsdQVPb" data-name="Radiohead">Radiohead</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:40Yq4vzPs9VNUrIBG5Jr2i" data-name="The Smashing Pumpkins">The Smashing Pumpkins</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:267VY6GX5LyU5c9M85ECZQ" data-name="Dinosaur Jr.">Dinosaur Jr.</a>). Like many young new bands in their mid-twenties, the 90s speak to them as an early, distant memory. The band&#39;s music heavily reflects this, as the essence of both the music and the lyrics draw inspiration from emotions of nostalgia and bittersweet memories of the past. Drawing further from more contemporary influences such as <a href="spotify:artist:5PbpKlxQE0Ktl5lcNABoFf" data-name="Car Seat Headrest">Car Seat Headrest</a>, Alex G, Hovvdy and Duster, the band used their charity shop guitars and a modest home recording setup to create songs for their first-ever vinyl release on Kanine Records.


2017 saw the band play Reading &amp; Leeds Festival, join Citizen in UK &amp; Europe on a sold-out tour, and play NH7 Festival in Pune, India, while 2018 saw them tour with <a href="spotify:artist:6pJ12qda5aKt5NJax5ZJtC" data-name="Bloody Knees">Bloody Knees</a> and perform at Latitude Festival. March 2019 saw them play at SXSW in Austin, TX. They went on tour with <a href="spotify:artist:3E3NOIlw2s1ZPU9GRB9jaq" data-name="JAWS">JAWS</a> in April 2019 and with <a href="spotify:artist:4DUQBYAyOTZotSEdKhaf6c" data-name="Basement">Basement</a> in August 2019. The band returned to America to play the New Colossus Festival in New York just before lockdown 2020, after which they released their debut EP &#39;Post Modern Motorcade Music&#39;. In August of 2021 they returned to the stage to play a small UK tour.
