Honour Before Glory is the solo moniker for whiskas (<a href="spotify:artist:78Gq4ZUZW4rFbOy6ejqFto" data-name="¡Forward Russia!">¡Forward Russia!</a> / Dance To The Radio).
His first solo album, “this is broken line”, was the result of 4 years of playing, messing around, learning and coming to terms with making music with no one else to fall back on - the freedom and the constraints of having no one to answer to. Made with & supported by a cast of friends from bands such as I Like Trains, Duels, Sam Airey, Shut Your Eyes & You'll Burst Into Flames & more, the album was released in 2012. Achieving acclaim from the likes of Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens, and warranting comparisons as varied as M83, Wolf Parade and My Bloody Valentine by a host of blog admirers, tracks were featured on Radio 1, Skins & Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition.
whiskas has gone onto work with a host of other artists, notably producing <a href="spotify:artist:1VTqcwo2gWop75nRqyCGJw" data-name="Sam Airey">Sam Airey</a>’s album “<a href="spotify:album:6JfAojXzbUT88dpgIjANAG" data-name="In Darkened Rooms">In Darkened Rooms</a>, and creating support for regional artists through his Music:Leeds initiative (check out <a href="spotify:playlist:1uszf44ADxJp2E6rLOixA5" data-name="Music:Leeds Latest Releases - May 2020">Music:Leeds Latest Releases - May 2020</a>).
In 2020, he is revisiting some old tracks that were never released, and writing new music for the first time in nearly 10 years.
