ABOUTUS
Hoochie Mama was founded in 1990 after a local jam session in their hometown Hilversum. After 2 members left the band in 1996, the band went on as a Bluesrock Powertrio for a few years. When Ron hit the stage playing the bluesharp in 1999, the band started covering and writing more bluesy tunes. This resulted in a versatile mix which is best described as Powerful Blues / Rythm & Blues.
To match the new blues sound, the band changed their name to Hoochie Mama. It's derived from the Muddy waters song Hoochie Coochie Man and is blues slang for sexy lady.

During the last two decades Hoochie Mama succesfully performed all kind of venues and festivals, big and small. They also were asked as a support act for Dutch guitar legend Jan Akkerman, blues diva Ana Popovic and heavy weight blues legend Popa Chubby. They also received an outstanding review from Blues Magazine

In 2015 Hoochie Mama celebrated their 25 years anniversary with the release of their album Twentyfive.
