How I Became A Wave is the solo project of Pat Carey, formerly vocalist and songwriter with Cork band The Hard Ground. As part of the new wave of contemporary folk, How I Became A Wave blends intimate vocals with rich textures.
The self titled debut album, due for release in 2025 features collaborations with some of Irelands finest musicians, composers and songwriters including Cormac McCarthy, Dave Murphy, Davie Ryan, Laura McFadden, Kealan Kenny, Maria Ryan, Brian Casey, Aoife Burke , Matthew Berrill and more.
