How To Knit A Scarf is a collaboration between platinum-record selling and Billboard Top 5 charting producer Barb Morrison (Blondie/Rufus Wainright)) and award-winning singer and songwriter and front person for Tripping Jupiter Madstone Rowan. Yes, that's a mouthful. Barb (they/them) and Madstone (he/they) have lovingly forged the side project known as How To Knit A Scarf to produce songs featuring artists from various corners of the artworld.
Their first collaboration is the song "Looking In", which they cowrote with Sundance Film Festival award-winning Director and author Dito Montiel (Riff Raff/A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints) - a talented singer and songwriter in his own right. In addition to cowriting the track with Barb and Madstone, Dito lends his iconic and personal lead vocal performance to the song, etching out an emotional and personal interpretation of the lyrics that sums up the tenor of the song.
How To Knit A Scarf is looking forward to genre-bending releases/collaborations with other artists in the future - so stay tuned!
The artwork for How To Knit A Scarf was done by Grammy-nominated drummer (and amazing artist in his own right) Matt Tecu, who has played with Beck, Fiona Apple, Neil Young, Nora Jones, Jakob Dylan, Brian Wilson and Stephen Stills among others.
